Meditation for obtaining peace
I practice this meditation to bring peace and tranquility to my life and it works great I urge you to try it!
1. Sit in an upright position, hands resting on your thighs or knees close your eyes and ground yourself (check out my New to meditation? No problem. post if your not sure what grounding means) and relax. Then take your breath to the heart area. As you inhale, feel the area pulsate with positive energy. As you exhale, feel an infinite peace fill your heart. Imagine that your heart is expanding with a brilliant golden light. keep on doing this until your heart can no longer contain the peace.
2. As you do this now let the peace burst into every single part of your body. Let it seep down your abdomen and down your legs filling up your whole body until it reaches your head.
3. Don't let the peace stop there though. imagine it flowing out of your body into the room around you. After its filled up your room let it into your house, then your neighborhood, then your city or town, then your state, etc. until the peace has reached all of the corners of the world. Then let your focus go back to your breath until you are ready to open your eyes. This meditation lasts.... you now live in a world of peace.
Do this meditation whenever you feel angry, sad, jealous etc.
Enjoy.

Instant pain relief meditation!
When faced with pain, thinking positive can be a powerful meditation technique. Studies show that people with chronic pain who practice relaxation techniques have fewer symtoms of pain and distress.
Steps:
1. Sit or lie comfortably. Close your eyes and ground yourself (read second blog post) by taking deep breathes.
2. visualize your body as a whole, take focus of your fingers, each eyelash strand, your toes. Use your minds eye to visualize your body.
3. Now visualize your organs, everything (brain, heart, lungs etc.) and visualize the blood flowing through your veins
4. Think about the pain and where it is located in the body. See its color and visualize it, but dont let it engulf you.
5. Now think of another part that isn't feeling pain and think of how healthy it is, look throughout your body at any pain free part.
6. Having established that most of your body is pain free, go back to the spot of the pain and visualize it freezing like ice, then take healing energy from your body (visualize as soothing white light) and melt it and start to feel the pain going away.
7. Once you feel better open your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
(If you want try chanting the healing mantra while you do this meditation)
Enjoy.

New to meditation? No problem.
So you wanna start meditation eh? Where to start? how hard is it? what to do? In this post i'll talk to you about these questions so you can start to transform YOUR life.
Where to start?
Starting meditation is actually very simple. To begin ask yourself why you want to start so you can view your goals and act upon those goals to transform your life, because of course you can change any aspect of your life (even weight loss!).
How hard is it?
Meditation is hard for the first few weeks or even months of practice, learning to calm your mind takes time and even some monks today can't fully complete this.
What to do?
In this post im going to show you the most basic meditation for grounding yourself (controlling your thoughts) which alone can be an effective tool to become more aware. First take away all distractions from the room you are in so nothing will bother you during your meditation, then close your eyes and breathe deeply and sort of focus or observe your breath and let all other thoughts clear from your mind. You may catch yourself drifting to other thoughts so just come back to observing your breath. this takes time to do it without drifting off and once you do it is very rewarding and relaxing. Practice this daily so you can effectively ground yourself.
Namaste.
